Employee Spotlight - Russ Rehm

06/25/2021

Russel came to DENTALEZ with 27 years of automotive experience in his background, where he applied his strong mechanical background to troubleshooting and repairs. Interestingly, when he came to work for us seven years ago on our line of Ramvac vacuums and compressors, he knew very little about our industry! We asked him to describe what that was like, for him, after so many years becoming an expert in a different industry.

What do you like about working in the dental industry?

The people I’ve worked with, both inside and outside DENTALEZ. When I started here seven years ago I was totally green when it came to any knowledge of the dental profession. I didn’t even know what a HVE or an SE was! Nor many of the other different terminologies used in the dental industry. I have been very thankful to be surrounded by coworkers and other individuals that have helped me learn and develop the skills needed to understand dental. Additionally, working along with our dealer technicians is rewarding.

What's your favorite aspect of your job?

I like solving problems. I spent seven years as a Service Technician, five as a Service Advisor and 15 as a Service Manager in my automotive career. I brought that love of fixing things to this job. Being able to troubleshoot a problem with a technician or clinic staff member in an emergency and get the clinic up and running again is the most rewarding feeling. It brings me a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

What's your favorite DENTALEZ product and why?

I would have to say the Bulldog vacuum system, which is now called the RV4-12. I really like the simple design and ease of working on it. This is also the product that I started my initial training on when I started with Ramvac years ago, and it’s sort of like the attachment you have to your first car.
