In her role in Credit & Collections, Jackie is tasked with overseeing the financial side of our client relations, the payment for our products, equipment and service. As such, she’s established a friendly rapport with many of our long-term clients since she joined this team in 2014. And as such has a great depth of experience and know-how she brings to her work. She answered a few of our questions about her day-to-day work with DENTALEZ.

What does a Credit and Collections Specialist do for DENTALEZ?

I’m the go-to person for government, dealers A-I, and universities. I handle the financial transactions once a sale is made which means I manage the invoicing, payments, and collection for these accounts. I also manage the daily and weekly payments and orders and run an interface report that reveals any discrepancies, at which point I email customer service to fix the information needed to issue invoice/credit memo. So I’m pretty hands-on with all of our customers’ accounts!

What roles had you previously held at DENTALEZ that helped you learn specific things for your position today?

I started in Accounts Receivable in 1985 and learned how to post payments and collect unpaid invoices. I then took a position with Harcum College and learned Accounts Payable. While in this position, I was asked to learn payroll, which I learned using ADP. After 5 years there, I took another position doing in-house payroll for Brother’s, Inc., an electrical contracting company. For a while after that position, I stayed home with my children. In the fall of 2013, when I started to look for full-time work again, I went to an agency where I was placed at DENTALEZ who hired me full-time.

You’ve been in the dental industry for a long time now! What is it that you like about working in the dental industry?

I like working in the dental industry because there are so many products, and each is manufactured differently, built for different needs and managed by different teams so it’s a lot of variety. I like learning about each, and I find myself scanning PO’s to see what type of customer needs which kinds of products.

What's your favorite aspect of your job?

The favorite aspect of my job is solving invoicing problems and making sure the customer is satisfied with their purchase. I have wonderful customers who make my job easy - you might not think it’s easy to collect money owed, but my DENTALEZ customers are great to work with.

What's your favorite DENTALEZ product and why?

My favorite DENTALEZ products are the handpieces. There are many different types that fit all types of needs, and I’m proud of the fact that they are used by college students who are taking dental hygiene courses. I like that our products are part of the next generation of dentists!
