Tony is a relatively new addition to the DENTALEZ team, joining us just before the pandemic. He came to us, however with a lengthy and robust background, having earned his engineering stripes across a number of positions, as an Engineering Manager, Launch Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager and Industrial Engineer for a Tier One automotive supplier, over a career that took him to both Michigan as well as Alabama!
We asked Tony to share with us what he likes and what’s different about working in dentistry vs. automotive, and which products he finds most interesting.
What do you like about working in the dental industry?
I like the fact that the end customer who is receiving our product is not another company, but rather an individual.
What's your favorite aspect of your job?
Being able to directly and immediately help the people building the product every day.
What's your favorite DENTALEZ product and why?
I’m still learning the products here at DENTALEZ, but so far I would have to say the AERAS compressor is my favorite product. This may be because I am the most familiar and comfortable with this product, but also because of all of the technology behind the units.
For example, the AERAS controller packs a ton of visibility to the unit from a maintenance perspective as well as a user interface, but even without that controller, the units have a lot of cool features. We have taken the basic concept of an air compressor with a motor and a tank and added heat exchangers and desiccant towers which through a series of solenoid valves and other engineered plumbing make the exiting air cool and dry for the end user.
When you are used to only seeing a traditional air compressor such as those at a shop or at your home, and then you see one of these, it is very impressive.
Welcome to the team Tony and keep up the great work!
