Abe is well-known across his team for the good-natured positive energy he brings to work every day. In his role as Lineleader for our DENTALEZ Heritage Chair Line, he oversees and provides leadership. As a leader, he says, he’s always thinking, always strategizing on how to improve the DEZ product, working through problems, making informed decisions and influencing others in a positive way. We asked him to tell us more about his work and his team.
Describe for us in more detail the work you do for us at DENTALEZ...
My role at DENTALEZ is lineleader of the chairline; my primary responsibility is in training others and preparing them to be efficient and effective as they build our chairs. That involves creating and constantly improving the chair assembly process to improve workflow and increase productivity.
How do your previous experiences in various positions with DENTALEZ help you in your work today?
I have been employed at DENTALEZ for some 40+ years now, and all throughout my career here, I’ve been motivated to learn how to best do my job, to listen to others’ ideas, and to take the lead to make sure that every day we produce chairs that are the highest quality and are completed on time to meet shipping deadlines.
What do you like about working in the dental industry?
Well, first, I like having a steady secure job that I love. And, even after being here for many years I still see opportunity and growth in my work. I like learning new skills and working with the new technology that’s being built into modern chairs. But mostly, I love seeing people sit in our chairs and seeing them smile.
What's your favorite aspect of your job?
I really like the variety of different styles of chairs we get to build. And I love working with my team - it’s a diverse group of people performing their skilled tasks who really love their job and are dedicated to being on a winning team. So there’s a lot of laughing and talking and enjoying the camaraderie while we work.
What's your favorite DENTALEZ product and why?
I’ve spent a lot of years putting my personal stamp of approval on so many of our chairs. I feel a real sense of ownership over the work and contributions I’ve made to the company.
