Hg5 Amalgam Separator is a version of the SolmeteX Hg5 Amalgam Separator made with modifications to facilitate use with RAMVAC and CustomAir vacuum equipment.
Vacuum System Compatibility: RAMVAC Certified head loss of no more than ¼" Hg at 40 SCFM. This means no clinically significant change in performance with RAMVAC Power Units up through a Bison 3.
The high tech, Hg5 cartridge tells you when it needs to be changed, and can be removed and replaced, without tools. Most states allow used cartridge shipping by common carrier to a certified recycler*.

* Waste collected by amalgam separators is considered hazardous and must often be transported according to state regulations. In addition, the EPA regulates dental amalgam waste disposal and documentation. The Hg5 makes this compliance easy: 46 states (at the time this is written - call RAMVAC for updates) allow Hg5 cartridges to be picked-up by FedEx and transported to an EPA certified recycler. All you need to do is call FedEx. They will pick-up your cartridge and give you a receipt - your proof that you have complied with all disposal requirements. NOTE: Used cartridges must be delivered to an EPA Certified Recycler.
RAMVAC is not a recycler. Do NOT send used cartridges to RAMVAC.
