The Lucy Hobbs Project™ 2017 Annual Celebration is currently taking place at the Lowes Hotel in Philadelphia.
This project, started by Benco Dental, was originally inspired by Lucy Hobbs Taylor, who despite being refused admission to medical and dental schools became the first woman to earn an American degree in dentistry in 1861. While the Lucy Hobbs Project helps to empower women in dentistry, this event is open to everyone in the dental industry.
This year 6 women were recognized for their innovation and contribution to the industry.
- Irene Marrion- Tarrazzi, DMD, MS – “Woman to Watch”
- Margaret Ackess, RDA, CDA Med- “Innovator”
- Andrea Joy Smith, DDS- “Clinical Expertise”
- Winifred J. Booker, DDS- “Humanitarian”
- Patricia L. Blanton, DDS, MS, PhD- “Industry Icon”
- Emily Ishkanian, DMD- “Mentor”
We at DentalEZ would like to join Benco in celebrating these women and all that the Lucy Hobbs project stands for.
